1. Game Updates

Hey everybody! I have many updates and pieces of progress to share

999 coins are implemented. They display properly in the level menu and the more expanded map menu. Now I’m working on putting the improved coin system into the Buy Buy Buy shop so you can buy power ups and extra lives and stuff

Made a ton of progress on the final world and even more of it is being designed on paper. I also know what the final boss will be (I’ll keep that a secret so you can find out on your own). Here's a GIF showing off some of my favorite views in World 9:

Started implementing the enemy designed by Byucknah The Red who purchased the Design Your Own Enemy package! This enemy is really cool and complex. It's more like a mini boss than your standard enemy because it requires figuring out how the enemy works and when you can attack it. It eats lasers so your main mode of attack is in question. The enemy is called a Gorbobbler

Extensive refinement of the over world. Especially fixing confusion of which flowers you can and can’t walk over. Now it’s consistent and visually, I think pretty self explanatory. Also refined the tile set, coloring, and design.

I also put computers in convenient places on the world map so you don't have to go back to Wink's house to change settings and see your collection. As an added bonus, I like how it enhances the theme of old junk laying around everywhere. How do these computers get electricity? Don't ask!

2. Canceled Ideas

One of the most important parts of finishing a game is making sure the scope doesn't get out of control. It's also (for me) one of the most mysterious and interesting parts of classic games. The what-ifs. Like what if Yoshi's Island had gone with a 3D rendered look to compete with Donkey Kong Country? If the game never has to be finished, I can keep adding every fresh idea I have but that's not the case! This is a list of ideas I'm probably going to skip so the game can be finished as soon as possible. I won't remove anything I already promised.

⁃    Disable Pizza rat penalty scenario     
⁃    Remove the big level menu scene button     
⁃    Remove the extra stuff in upper right of map    
 ⁃   Remove the higher stuff on map -- replace it with a room     
 ⁃   Remove the “something strange happened” thing     
⁃    Drop the L1 redo   
 ⁃   Reduce NeonOS BreakIt scope    
 ⁃   Don’t do the mini-wink door on map thing


Maybe I’ll fast track these for the sequel!
